This Privacy Policy provides you with information about the personal information we collect and handle about you as our customers, members of the public, visitors to our websites, and users of QuiteLike apps, social media, and other digital services.

In addition to this Privacy Policy, we and our third-party partners (where applicable) have privacy notices and other terms that provide further information about your privacy. Those additional privacy notices and terms contain important information about the collection, use and disclosure of personal information by us and the third-party partners.

2. Why do we collect and handle your personal information?

We collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information so that we can provide goods and services to you, improve and personalise our services for you and operate our business effectively. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Ensuring your eligibility for our services;
  • Managing your requests for products and services, including deliveries, processing payments, providing refunds and discounts and giving order updates;
  • Customising our products and services to customer preferences and capturing feedback;
  • Responding to feedback or concerns you have regarding our products and services;
  • Registering and servicing your account, including storing, verifying and updating your information;
  • Communicating with you about our products, services, and promotions (including direct marketing and personalised offers);
  • Requesting feedback through surveys and research so that we can improve our products and services;
  • Improving our operational processes to enhance your customer experience and how we work with our suppliers;
  • Provide and improving our customer support experience;
  • Managing our supply chain, procuring ingredients and working with our service providers;

Where you provide us with personal information about someone else, you must have their consent to provide their personal information to us based on this Privacy Policy.

You can unsubscribe from marketing information at any time by using the unsubscribe function within the marketing material, or by contacting us as set out in Section 9. There are, however, some service and transactional messages that we must be able to send you. These include, for example, messages relating to your account, forgotten passwords, transactional receipts, updates to our T&Cs and Privacy Policy, and product recall notices.

3. Types of personal information collected

The types of personal information we collect for the purposes listed in Section 2 includes, but is not limited to:

  • Your identity and contact details: this includes your name, delivery/billing address, telephone number, email address, IP address, date of birth and account login details;
  • Financial and transaction information: this includes payment card details and transaction history;
  • Your preferences and user data: information about you as our customer and how you engage with our products and services. For example, dietary preferences, personalised weekly orders, transactional data, order history, interests and feedback you provide on your shopping experience;
  • Usage and Interaction data: details of how you interact with our products and services including what you access, click on and interact with across Our Digital Services (see Section 6 for further information);
  • Contact history: details of your contact and interactions with us, including customer support contact messages and responses (by chat, email, SMS or social media); and,
  • Marketing and communications data: this includes your marketing preferences, channel preferences, and your interaction with Our Digital Services and marketing.

4. Anonymity

You have the option to engage with QuiteLike anonymously. However, if you choose to interact with QuiteLike anonymously, we may not be able to provide our products or services to you, or make some offers available to you without your personal information. For example, we may not be able to deliver items ordered online to your home address if you do not provide us with your residential address.

How personal information is collected and held
We collect your personal information when you interact or transact with us. This includes, but is not limited to, when you:

  • Register on our website and create an account;
  • Choose your meals for coming weeks;
  • Set or change your dietary preferences;
  • Participate in a promotion, competition or survey;
  • Post a review, rating or other content about us, including online;
  • Place an order with us;
  • Use your payment cards (i.e. credit card or debit card);
  • Request customer service or contact us (including by email and telephone); or
  • Use our related websites, apps, social media, and other digital services (see Section 6 – Our Digital Services for further information).

We may also collect personal information from third parties including from:

  • Public sources (for example, in public registers or social media);
  • Information service providers;
  • The parties described in Section 5; and,
  • Anyone authorised to act on your behalf.

We may also generate new personal information from time to time – e.g. reports or analysis based on other information we hold about you.

We hold personal information electronically and in hard copy, at our own facilities and with the assistance of our service providers. We implement a range of measures, including people, process, and technology controls to protect the security of your personal information. Examples of these measures include:

  • Restricting access to personal information;
  • Maintaining technology products designed to prevent unauthorised computer access; and
  • Encryption for online processing of your payment details.

5. Sharing of personal information

The types of personal information we collect for the purposes listed in Section 2 includes, but is not limited to:

We work with suppliers and third parties that carry out specific functions on our behalf, so that we can provide you with goods and services and carry out the activities listed in Section 2. These third parties assist us with the below services, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Technology services including software development, technical support, cloud computing and processing, storing, hosting and analysing data;
  • Processing payments;
  • Communicating with you, including in respect of our offers and promotions;
  • Product development and market research;
  • Security and investigative, fraud, loss prevention, and safety activities;
  • Business advisory services, such as our lawyers, accountants, or other professional service providers to the extent reasonably required; and,
  • Administrative services, including logistics, mailing services, printing, archival, and contact management services.

Other third parties we share personal information with include:

  • your representatives;
  • police, courts, government agencies and lawyers, e.g. in in connection with regulatory and legal investigations and processes; and
    parties involved in business transfer transactions (and prospective transactions)

We use systems, customer service teams and service providers located within Australia and in overseas locations that may include EU Member States, Singapore, and United States. We may share personal information with third parties in these countries. From time to time, this list of countries may change.

6. Our Digital Services

QuiteLike operates a range of websites, mobile apps, email services, online advertisements and social media profiles, which are collectively known as Our Digital Services. We want you to be confident that your personal information is being used to offer you a better and more personalised experience with us.

We and our suppliers (such as Meta, Google, Oracle and Adobe) use various technologies, such as cookies, beacons, tags and pixels, to personalise and improve your customer experience as you use Our Digital Services, improve the functionality and performance of Our Digital Services, deliver online advertising that we think is more relevant to you and measure the effectiveness of our marketing communications. Cookies and similar technologies may also help us to detect fraudulent activity or to prevent security breaches and so we may collect information about your device from within the cookie.

You can configure your browser or device to reject and delete cookies, block JavaScript, disable GPS location services and anonymise your usage patterns. If you choose to do so, this may limit the functionality of some parts of Our Digital Services for you. For example, you may not be able to add items to your shopping basket, proceed to checkout, or use our products and services that require you to sign in.

When you use our Our Digital Services, we may collect data about your device, visit and activity, including:

  • IP address
  • Browser type
  • Webpage you were visiting before you came to Our Digital Services
  • The pages or areas within Our Digital Services you visit and the time spent there
  • Items and information searched for in Our Digital Services, access times and dates, and other statistics

Our Digital Services may use Google Analytics and other analytics software which use cookies, text files that are stored on the hard drive of your computer and enable the analysis of your use of Our Digital Services. The information gathered by the cookie about the use of Our Digital Services will generally be transmitted to Google servers in the US and saved there. As licensed by us, Google will use this information in order to analyse your use of Our Digital Services, in order to compile reports regarding the online activity, and in order to render further services associated with online services to us. You can choose to prevent Google’s collection and usage of the data gathered by cookie files to provide information regarding your usage of this website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plugin available. By using this website, you are consenting to the appropriation of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes laid out above.

We also use Google AdWords and other remarketing services to advertise on third party websites and digital services (including Google) to previous visitors to Our Digital Services. It could mean that we advertise to previous visitors who haven’t completed a task on our site, for example using the contact form to make an inquiry. This could be in the form of an advertisement on the Google search results page, or a site in an advertising Display Network. Third-party vendors, including Google, use advertising cookies (from DoubleClick) to associate your browser with interest and demographic categories, and serve ads based on your past visits to Our Digital Services.

This website uses retargeting services from the social network Facebook. Facebook collects certain information via cookies to determine which parts of Our Digital Services are visited. This data is then used to associate your browser with interest and demographic categories, and serve Facebook ads based on your past visits to this website.

7. Procedure to access or correct your personal information

You can access and update your personal information any time by accessing your account on QuiteLike’s website. If you wish to access or correct any other personal information we hold about you, please contact us as set out in Section 9.

When making an access request, please provide as much detail as you can about the specific information you seek, in order to help us retrieve it. Under the Privacy Act and other relevant laws, we are required to provide a written response to you if we are unable to respond to your request, outlining the reasons why we were unable to do so.

Where you request us to correct information we hold about you, but we elect not to make the requested correction, you may request us to add a note to your information outlining your position.

Once a complaint has been lodged, we will let you know who will be handling your matter and when you can expect a full response. If you are not satisfied with our response, please let us know and we will investigate further and respond to you.
